- People who discuss suicide will not actually commit suicide.
- Suicide is committed without warning.
- Suicidal people want to die.
- People who attempt suicide by low lethal means are not serious about killing themselves.
- Up to three quarters of those who take their own lives communicate their intentions beforehand.
- Many people are not well informed about pill dosages or human anatomy. Because of this, people who really want to die sometimes make nonlethal attempts.
